January 11th 2009, Cleveland, Ohio: lawyer Josh Cohen and his partners summon before the court 21 banks they deem responsible for the foreclosures that have devastated their city. But the Wall Street banks fight back. They use every means possible to impede the proceedings thus leaving the city of Cleveland on the hook for the aftermath of these foreclosures: more policing, more crime, more deficit. CLEVELAND VS. WALL STREET tells the story of a trial that should have happened. Instead, a trial is conducted for cinema but the stories, protagonists, and unscripted testimonies are very real, shedding new light on the human cost and on the mechanics that led to the biggest financial meltdown since the Great Depression.
